Ten Green Balloons - Online Strategy

Being part of The Finders Keepers Market here in Melbourne (earlier this month), was a fantastic experience but selling Vintage was really hard work… sure the numbers of people walking through the door was massive, and it was a fantastic marketing experience, but the stall costs are pretty hefty and you have to sell a lot of stock to even cover costs… Thankfully I covered my costs and made a small profit but the physicality was huge and I'm not completely sure the small profit was worth the mental and physical energy that went into it… it took a week to recover!!

All in all a positive experience but one I'm not sure I'll repeat on my own again….

So I've decided to develop and work on an online strategy for Ten Green Balloons, and it's working... Last Wednesday I listed three items on Etsy and had sold one by Friday, and on Tuesday after putting this key image on Social Media I sold them all to one person…

My plan is to dedicate Wednesdays to online sales and marketing through Etsy, Instagram and Facebook and am happy with what I achieved today

The Finders Keepers Melbourne Spring / Summer Market

I've got my eye out for a Bricks and Mortar retail store with residence attached but until I do I'm really excited to be part of the next Melbourne Finders Keepers Market….

Retail Dream

While everyone seems to be taking their business online I'm seriously considering opening a "Bricks and Mortar" store here in Melbourne - I've actually found a store and am working out how to make it happen…and turn it from a dream into a reality… I really love working in retail and am pretty passionate about it….

Found this image this morning and thinking a Retail Space to Live In would be amazing...

Green with Envy - Green Door

It's been far to long since I've posted on the Ten Green Balloons Blog - becoming addicted to Instagram   and having an extremely busy couple of months has meant the TGB blog has suffered…
So I'm simply going to start again with this image I've loved for ages and start a regular Green with Envy post...

Bloggers Block - Time to get Motivated

It seems hard to believe I started blogging five years ago and although I've recently lost a little focus and direction, I absolutely love blogging, so it's time to regroup, get motivated and keep going!! Stopping would be easy, but looking back, once I embraced the JUST START concept and let the blog evolve rather than worrying about how it initially looked and what I would actually blog about JUST STARTING was pretty easy…

Despite my current lack of motivation and a few health issues, (which have had me questioning my decision to work freelance and run a small business) the retail side of Ten Green Balloons is growing, and I have a few exciting projects coming up in the new Financial Year…
which is only a few weeks away!!!

So enough of this Bloggers Block - its time to get motivated

Word of the Week - Sponge

I'm still reading the Naked CEO by Alex Malley and although I'm only up to Chapter 4 Insights Come from Everywhere (I have read Chapter 4 twice already) I'm finding it really relatable…..

"Why do some people have great idea after great idea, like it just comes naturally to them? I can tell you, while many of those people are naturally creative, they also possess an ability to absorb like a sponge. This process makes them confident and opportunistic"
The Naked CEO page 29

I'm lucky enough to work casually at The Heide Museum of Modern Art and felt like a complete sponge last weekend surrounded by inspiring 21st Century art works… so much so that I left work feeling completely inspired with pages of idea after idea - I have been described as naturally quite creative and by the time I got home I was feeling pretty confident…. now the hard part I just have to turn some of those ideas into opportunities….
