Retro Cats

I was looking at a blog recently which has great content but quite often the author publishes 10 photos of the same thing which I was finding quite frustrating - NOW I UNDERSTAND!!!

One of my strengths as a photographer has always been editing photo's but I found it difficult to edit these cats down to just one photo - they are just so cool................

Elephant Parade Milan and Singapore 2011

What do Milan and Singapore have in common? 

Well last year while traveling I came across one thing they had in common: 

ELEPHANTS

In Milan last year I came across elephant sculptures everywhere and didn't really give them too much thought - apart from "Whoa they are pretty cool". Then I stumbled across another herd of elephants in Singapore on my way home, and started giving them quite a lot more thought - so I did a little research and found out they were part of a world wide open air art exhibition called 

 Elephant Parade..... 

The Elephant above called Little Miss DMT by Carrie Reichardt and Nick Reynolds was in Milan and the B&W Elephant below ( in Singapore) is called Revenge of the Animals by Mojoko.. 

The Elephants were all pretty cool but I particularly liked these ones which I took photos of using the Tilt Shift Generator app on my iphone...

What a fabulous back door - love the color combo.
This photo was taken using a tilt shift lens which has helped create the distorted effect.....

Robinson Crusoe and The Smith Family Robinson

What a fantastic 'Companion Library' book - it must have been a best seller with Robinson Crusoe and The Swiss Family Robinson paired up - I might try and get some reading done over the weekend!!!

KYO - Ocean Grove

If you find yourself in Ocean Grove of all places a visit to KYO is a must.... Filled with amazing quirky  antiques & collectibles from Japan and around the world I could have spent an entire day getting lost - i spent a small fortune on old metal folding chairs, Japanese fisherman's floats, and a retro green telephone, so would have done serious damage to my credit card balance if I had stayed any longer.

These amazing lockers from Japan where way above my price range but made pretty stunning photos using the iphone tilt shift generator app...... The green metal lockers are from the Sento Bath house in Osaka, Japan but I particulary like pink and blue ones!!

Don't be put off by their website which isn't that great

Florence Skyline

These fabulous clouds make the perfect background for this wonderful sculpture and the buildings in Florence... I managed to get a few good photos before the heavens opened up and it poured with rain!!!

This Piazza was just along from the Uffizi Gallery which is really worth taking the time to visit.....
